Agent Bios
Douglas Leavy - Principal Agent / Owner
Originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Doug
graduated Cum Laude from Gettysburg College double
majoring in Economics & Management.
After working for a financial planning firm in Philadelphia
for some time, Doug decided to move to the Sunshine
State with his wife in 2002. With experience at both
State Farm & Banker’s Life, Doug took his
time in developing Strategic Insurance with his business
partner Michael Ludwig.
Doug enjoys working with clients to help solve the
wide array of insurance needs that Strategic Insurance
handles and takes the time to explain their coverage’s,
options and premiums to them.
In his spare time, Doug enjoys going to the beach,
running, golf, and spending time with his family
including his wife Kirsty, and parents Ned and Rosemary,
who recently relocated to St. Petersburg.
Doug is also committed to his community and is a
member of the Ambassador Committee at the Pinellas
Park/Gateway Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he
volunteers at the Beacon House, which strives to
improve the lives of the homeless in St. Petersburg
and works on weekend projects for Habitat for Humanity
to build homes for needy families in Pinellas County.
Michael Ludwig - Principal Agent / Owner
Michael Ludwig holds insurance licenses in Property & Casualty,
Life, and Health insurance, as well as, Variable
Annuities. Upon graduation from The University of
South Florida in 2002, Michael started working for
a State Farm Agency in Clearwater, Florida. In early
2004, Michael accepted a position with a Nationwide
Agency as a Personal Lines Manager where he received
valuable experience in running a successful independent
agency. In 2006, Michael met Doug Leavy and they
focused on starting an independent agency with a
focus on client relationships.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys boating, fishing,
scuba diving, relaxing on the beach and traveling.
Mr. Ludwig is also a big believer in giving back
to the community and volunteers his time with The
Big Brothers, Big Sisters Organization in Pinellas
County. He is also active with the Pinellas Park/Gateway
Chamber of Commerce, Networking Professionals Inc,
and is currently studying to become a Chartered Property & Casualty
Underwriter.
