Originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Doug graduated Cum Laude from Gettysburg College double majoring in Economics & Management.

After working for a financial planning firm in Philadelphia, Doug decided to move to the Sunshine State in 2002. With experience at both State Farm & Banker’s Life, Doug took his time in developing Strategic Insurance with his business partner Michael Ludwig & opened the agency in 2006.

Doug enjoys working with clients to help solve the wide array of insurance & financial needs that clients face today and appreciates taking the time to educate clients on their options & choices to better protect their families & businesses. Being an independent agent allows Doug to choose from a wide variety of companies & coverage’s to help his clients make the best decisions on their insurance needs.

Doug is involved with several local business organizations including C12, BNI, The Florida Gulf Coast Association of Commercial Realtors, & The Small Business Resource Network.

In his spare time, Doug enjoys going to the beach, running, fishing, golf, tennis and spending time with his friends & family. Doug is also committed to his church, Calvary Baptist, in Clearwater, FL. He is also involved in the Big Brother Big Sister of Pinellas County program & enjoys spending time with his little brother.

Volunteering & giving back to the community are a big part of the values & ethics that Doug & his business partner have, & as a result Strategic Insurance has gotten involved in assisting the Pinellas Pregnancy Center, & Paint Your Heart Out Tampa. Doug lives in Feathersound with his wife Amy.

Michael Ludwig moved to Florida in 1998 to escape the cold Ohio winters. He attended USF where he obtained a bachelors degree in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing and Management.

Upon graduation from The University of South Florida in 2002, Michael started working for a State Farm Agency in Pinellas Park, FL. In early 2004, Michael accepted a position with a Nationwide Insurance Agency as a Personal Lines Manager where he received valuable experience in running a successful independent agency. In 2006, Michael met Doug Levi. They planned on starting an independent agency with a focus on client relationships.  Michael holds licenses in Property & Casualty, Life and Health insurance ,Variable Annuities, and holds a series 6 designation to have the ability to sell variable products.

In his spare time, Mr. Ludwig enjoys boating, fishing, scuba diving, playing softball, relaxing at the beach and traveling. He is also a big believer in giving back to the community and volunteers his time with The Big Brothers, Big Sisters Organization in Pinellas County.  His company also donates time to the St Petersburg Homeless Shelter, Paint Your Heart Out Tampa, The Pinellas Pregnancy Center, CASA,  and Habitat for Humanity. Michael currently serves as Vice President of the Pinellas Association of Insurance Agents and is also active with the Florida Association of Insurance Agents’ Young Agents Council, Legislative Council and Project InVEST. Michael also serves on the Leadership Team for his local chapter of Business Networking International and is an active member of Vistage, an international leadership development group. Michael is currently studying to become a Certified Insurance Counselor and plans to have the designation by the end of 2013.
